We urgently need more pet free foster carers and those with a spare room to separate
If you are reading this, it is likely you are thinking of adding a cat to your home. You may have already spotted a cat you’d like to meet on our website or facebook page or you may be looking for some guidance or inspiration to find the right match for your household.
At this point, you complete the online application form to register your interest in a particular cat or to get the ball rolling in finding a match.
Please be aware that the matching and waiting list process does not include young kittens. If you are looking to adopt a young kitten or pair of young kittens, please check out our Facebook page for available kittens.
We can only accept applications for young kittens that are listed as available.
Please return your form to us at email@example.com
All adoptions are subject to a home check. A volunteer will arrange a convenient time to visit your home to discuss your application form and meet your family. The volunteer will then provide feedback to the rescue in order to move on to the next step in the adoption.
Following your home check, we will contact you to make arrangements for you to meet the furry of your choice.
Most of the time, this will involve lots of cuddles and purrs but please be aware that some cats are shy when meeting strangers, especially when they come from a rescue back ground so a little patience is required. We always try our best to describe the cats in our care accurately, so if a cat is particularly shy then this will be made clear on the advert.
All adoptions are subject to a non-refundable adoption fee of £90 per cat, unless amount is stated otherwise in pet advert. Once your home check is complete, all you need to do to reserve our pet is to make this payment to us.
Payment details will be sent to you at this point.
This is what you’ve really been waiting for. The moment is here and you can take your pet home.
At this point, we will supply you with an adoption agreement to read, consider and sign. Please read this carefully and retain a copy for your records.
The adoption journey doesn’t end the moment you get your new pet home. See our website for tips to help your new pet acclimatise to their surroundings or introducing them to your existing pets.
Perhaps your cat is settling in and you are experiencing behaviours that you have not encountered before. We are on hand to provide you with advice and guidance so please do get in touch.
Would you like to join our happy endings facebook group? If so, let us know and we’ll email you an invitation. Here you can share photos of your new favourite furry and get ideas and inspirations from other adopters and volunteers.
For the privacy of our adopters, this group is private and is only open to people who have adopted a cat or cats from the Cats Whisker’s Rescue.
The Cats Whisker’s Rescue provides lifetime rescue back up. This means if your circumstances change and you are no longer able to take care of your pet, we will welcome them back with open arms and find them a new loving home.
